The Challenges You will primarily be responsible for the assessment, measurement, design and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices and work closely with technicians during the fabrication process. The prosthetic patients seen at the weekly Amputee Clinic range from paediatrics to geriatrics and present with amputations resulting from DM, trauma and osteosarcoma. The orthotic service covers a diverse range of patients, including paediatric to rehabilitation clinics, Scoliosis treatment, polio, cranial moulding helmets and custom seating and wheelchairs. You will also be responsible for providing patient education on use and care of the prostheses and orthoses as well as conduct follow-up assessments. You can expect to contribute towards continuous quality improvement in the department and provide guidance to trainees and students. The Requirements - Degree
- Registered with the relevant governing body of that profession, if applicable
- Team player, possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient focus, genuine desire to make a difference
- Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical knowledge and reasoning, critical thinking, judgment and decision making in the provision of care
- Passionate about building a healthcare career, inspired to move ahead with challenges, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, able to thrive in fast paced environment
