The Challenges You will assess, diagnose and implement treatment for a range of problems related to the foot and lower limbs. Using your specialist skills and diagnostic aids, you will treat a broad spectrum of patients ranging from general low risk foot assessments to corns and calluses, infections, skin and nail diseases, congenital or acquired deformities, high-risk diabetic ulcer patients as well as servicing several community clinics to treat high-risk DM patients. You will also be involved in the fabrication of custom made orthoses, insoles and corrective footwear. In addition, you will educate patients and family members or caregivers on preventive foot care and continued treatment of disorders and conduct public forums and talks relating to foot care. You can also expect to contribute towards continuous quality improvement in the department and provide guidance to trainees and students.
The Requirements - Degree
- Registered with the relevant governing body of that profession, if applicable
- Team player, possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient focus, genuine desire to make a difference
- Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical knowledge and reasoning, critical thinking, judgment and decision making in the provision of care
- Passionate about building a healthcare career, inspired to move ahead with challenges, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, able to thrive in fast paced environment
